Residential Framing
The basic mechanics of residential wood framing are presented. Step-by-step procedures necessary to erect an entire wood-framed structure from the foundation base plate to the roof ridge are explained. Discussion of erection procedures includes code issues and hurricane resistance requirements. Individual components of the framing system and terminology are discussed in detail. Guidance is offered in discerning between proper and improper framing techniques and in understanding the effect faulty construction has on finish veneers.
